12 Days of Beauty Gift Guide 2016
I have put together a 12-day beauty gift guide for yourself or your loved ones, to help come up with high end and budget friendly Christmas gift ideas. Over the last few months on the blog and paper, I have shared different beauty/makeup products, services and brands that I have loved with you all, so alot of these feature in this piece!
As we head into the silly season and with all that’s available, I hope this may help you some way. As a special treat and to say a huge thank you for all the support this year, you will have a chance to win a beautiful gift of your own every day for 12 days starting tomorrow the 1st of December! How nice would that be?
So lets kick off this 12 day beauty gift guide!
Day 1 – Jimmy C Makeup Academy
Do you have a teenager who is makeup mad? Or perhaps you know of a loved one who is looking to break into the world of makeup artistry. If so, then check out Jimmy C makeup academy course’s starting in the new year. For the teenagers in your life, Jimmy runs a course designed to focus on makeup basics. It runs for 4 weeks (1 full day a week) with the focus on makeup basics. They also run courses for those that have decided that Makeup is the career for them, check out the website for additional details www.jimmycmakeup.ie. If this is beyond your purse string, you could always pop in and browse the new Paese cosmetics stand, their finishing powders and foundations are top notch.
Day 2 – Penneys
Yes I said it penneys! They do great stocking fillers and they have really upped their beauty game as of late. You can everything from your perfume, nail polish, hair products, tan, makeup and makeup tools. I can tell you that I love their makeup brushes, use their own brand beauty blender all the time and my essentials when I go in and visit have to be their lip liners. €20 would be more than enough to put together a gorgeous hamper and for €5-€10 a fab little secret Santa gift.
Day 3 – Shelbourne Hair and Beauty
The file and polish I got a few weeks ago is still going strong, this is an amazing feat! Eleanor has a promotion running at the moment on their vouchers; value €20-€40 you get an additional €5, value €50-€100 an additional €10 and €120-€200 an additional €20. They are also doing a Christmas party night pick and mix for €50.
If you would like to know more you should head out their customer appreciation night on the 2nd of December as they will be doing a makeup demo with Susan Fox, along with a few nibbles and drinks.
Day 4 – NIMA Brush
I absolutely love my NIMA makeup brushes and Niamh has recently added to the range to include the “build it up eye range”. NIMA brush has so many options from compete sets, to specific sets along with individual brushes, so it suits all budgets. They look beautiful, feel beautiful and help you achieve that perfect makeup look! To have a read of my reviews click HERE & HERE I reviewed both the eye detail set and the kabuki face detail set. Both are now a firm staple in my makeup kit!
Keep an eye out on out their social media or website www.nimabrush.com on the run up to Christmas to avail of discounts and special offers.
Day 5 – Alchemist Earth (Natural Skincare)
For all the natural beauty lovers in your life, this store is your one stop shop for anything they could remotely need or want. They stock everything from Antipodes (my favourite), Claudine, Lavera, Triology, Kinvara, Cowshed and much more.
You could also purchase a voucher for an all-natural beauty treatment which includes facials, tanning, nails, makeup and much more! Or you could gift someone with a 3 month beauty box delivery so that the excitement runs on until March! To read a bit more about Alchemist Earth checkout out my little write up HERE or visit them online at www.naturalskincare.ie
Day 6 – WetnWild Cosmetics
WetnWild are an affordable cosmetic brand that is readily available in the bigger Dunnes Stores. I have a huge selection of their products. I love their lip liner, lipsticks, balm stains, contour kit and my ultimate go to product has to be the brow kit! The best bit for me is that they are cruelty free which most budget brands are not!
Their eye shadows give you the information on where to place a specific shade on a particular part of the eye. These would be perfect for teenagers or for anyone who is not confident about how to match shades and where to use them. Again you can get so much from this range, ideal for those on a budget.
Day 7 – The Body Shop
Who doesn’t love the body shop? The store is always beautiful and the smell is just out of this world. Here you have a huge selection for the beauty lovers in your life from makeup, masks, perfume, threading and henna tattoos! You will be spoiled for choice but if you’re looking for ideas my favourites include the spiced apple collection, oils of life, vanilla chai range or any of their face masks.
They have a range of gifts starting from €10 and under, right up to €140+. I must say the €20 and under range has a great selection and this would be a perfect gift for all the lovely Mums out there…including myself! Don’t forget that they also have plenty in store for the men in your life; they need to look after their skin as well. To find you local store or to shop online go onto to http://www.thebodyshop.ie/
Day 8 – Catrice Cosmetics
Catrice is slowly become one of my favourite budget brands on the high-street. I love the HD foundation (review HERE), the concealers are as good as their higher end counterparts and the nail polishes are amazing! They have recently launched their Victorian poetry collection and it is so beautiful and would make a lovely gift for any makeup lover. The best part is that you could pull together a great gift and still be left with some change! I also love how expensive looking the packaging is, on your dressing table they stand up against their older, richer sister!
It can be hard to get your hands on it but I will let you in on a little gem of a pharmacy (if your in Limerick) which always has a well-stocked Catrice stand, Scanlon’s at Chawkes service station…Ssh don’t tell anybody!
Day 9 – Jo Browne Perfume
Jo’s solid perfume which you get online or at alchemist earth is the perfect companion for those who specially do a lot of travelling, due to its solid state and packaging it is safe to carry when flying. If your loved one is conscious about using natural products and looking after our environment then this is the perfect gift.
The range has 3 fragrances for women – oriental note, floral note, and sweet note. The men fragrances, woody and orient have just been recently introduced so that is them sorted too! The packaging is made from bamboo and it is so beautiful and unusual. Uou can read a review HERE.
Day 10 – Hogan’s Pharmacy
I could not do the 12 days of Beauty without talking about Makeup Revolution. I have covered many different products on both the paper and blog and Hogan’s Pharmacy is where I have bought most of these products. They have a great Makeup Revolution selection and is always well stocked. My must have’s include the Neutrals Vs Naturals palette, Sculpt & Contour Palette, and fortune favours the brave eyeshadow palette.
Not only can you pop in for your Makeup Revolution, they also have a wide variety of gift sets such as Pestle & Mortar, Green Angel and Kinvara skincare. They are also running offers on the Isadora eye shadow range. The icing on the cake has to the added bonus of gift wrapping. If you are like me, the worst part of Christmas shopping is the actual wrapping!
Day 11 – Isadora Cosmetics
Isadora cosmetics are one of the brands that I have not yet featured on the paper or blog but the love is very real for their products. I was introduced to the brand after I received a sample size mascara and this is how the relationship began! The new range Baroque contains the most beautiful deep coloured Lipstick’s perfect for the Christmas period; my favourite has to be rum raisin.
What I love about this range is that it caters to both a young and older audience and it is a mid-range priced brand that stands up against some of the best. Locally you can pick up the Isadora range in Hogan’s Pharmacy and nationwide Shaws. My top picks would include the Big Bronzer Powder, All day long lash mascara and the eye shadow quartets.
Day 12 – Debenhams
I just attended a Christmas gift event with Debenhams and it reminded me how diverse their range is and what good offers they run especially over the Christmas period. If you are at a complete loss, Debenhams is the place to hit and scout for ideas. From fun and quirky gifts to toys, fashion, perfume, homeware and of course beauty!
To keep it on the beauty track I would be visiting the counters for Urban Decay, Clarins, YSL and Lancôme for ideas. Lancôme have great affordable gift sets and are the perfect gift for when you have no clue what to get for that special women in your life!
So that’s a wrap on my 12 days of Beauty Gift Guide! I hope you enjoyed and that it may make your job a small bit easier.
