So who is the person behind the Putting it out there Blog?
My name is Yvonne and I am a 30 odd year old, at times socially awkward, career driven, mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. These are all so important to me and define me in so many ways, however, lately I feel like there is just something missing.
I have been so focused on all of the above (and rightly so!) but I think it is time that I challenge my social and creative side. So I have started this blog to begin my journey into the unknown and well I am just putting it out there 😉
I have set some goals for myself this year, to do things I have always dreamed about doing but for various different reasons always chickened out. I love fashion, beauty and music, so these are the areas that my focus will be on initially.
As mentioned above, in new social situations, I can only be classed as awkward. This is down to my perception of what others see and think when they meet me (I just think about things way to much) and also worry too much about what others think of me. I am sure that I am not alone out there, as I don’t think anyone can truly say that some situations just make you want to run for the hills or to back to bed……where ever your comfort zone is.
But no more, if I want to continue to grow as a person and develop a more holistic approach to my life, specially so that I may teach my son that its ok to be uncomfortable or awkward as long as it does not hold you back from doing what you want to do.
So I hope you enjoy reading about the challenges I have set for the year and hopefully it may even encourage and give hope to others like me. If I can get passed that awful feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you are faced with a situation that you know will be uncomfortable for you, than anyone can!!
I also hope you are enjoying everything else I write about. As I have continue on this journey, I have fallen in love with writing, reviewing and attending events, meeting inspiring women and more importantly I am loving the freedom it has given me to try all the things I which I was previously afraid to do.
