Freedom Makeup Far Away Lip Collection
The Freedom Makeup Far Away Lip Collection is my first purchase from Freedom Makeup and of course I would not start with a bog standard makeup product lol
So I purchased the Far Away Lip Collection on a complete whim, I popped in to Cassidy Pharmacy in Ennis as I knew they stocked Freedom makeup and this is what I came out with! I thought why no,t it was 5 lipsticks for the small price tag of €7.49 and with Halloween coming up these particular “out there” shades would come in handy.
The Freedom Makeup Far Away Lip Collection is based and named after elements of Star Wars. It would be the perfect Christmas present for any Makeup/Star War lovers out there! I am going to go through each of the shades below, for this post I have not shown them on the lips and this is just because I have a sore on my lip from getting my wisdom teeth out and I got fed up waiting for it to heal!
Freedom Makeup Far Away Lip Collection – Swatches
Above you can see the 5 shades swatched on my arm. I swiped a couple of times so that you could see the colours and I hope you agree that they are beautiful even if slightly different! All the shades have a shimmer running through, except for Storm-Trooper which is matte.
Freedom Makeup Far Away Lip Collection – Review
Far Away is a beautiful purple/blue with the emphasis being more on the blue. I really liked this colour and its one of the two that I would wear on it own. It took a couple of swipes to get the colour payoff but it looked beautiful on, the light shimmer pairing the colour back so that it is not so in your face.
Space Luxe is a beautiful gold and the other lipstick that I would regularly use. Again the shimmer reduces the impact of the colour and it has a real nice finish to it. I have also used it over another lipstick to add a bit of shimmer to it.
Storm Trooper is the only matte shade in the lip collection. This lipstick was the only one that I was truly disappointed with as it is just not opaque enough. No matter how many layers I applied you could see still the pink from my lips through the white! The more layers I applied the worse it looked lol. That said, it is perfect for popping on the middle of my lips to make them look plumper, so all is not lost!
The Sith is a black colour but as there is a shimmer, it is not opaque. I have to say that even I, am not brave enough to wear this out and about but I have used it to create some Halloween looks.
Skywalker is just gorgeous and seems to be the only lipstick that required the least amount of work to get colour payoff. Again I have used this for some Halloween looks but I think I may rock this on a Christmas night out….if I get one 😉
Just to note, that the bottom of the lipsticks have a gloss that can be removed like below. It adds a bit of a sheen to the lips.
All in all for €7.49 I am very happy with my purchase. They are very comfortable to wear and not all drying on the lips which is great. You can definitely use them on their own, especially if you like bold or different colours. If your not sure if these type of colours are for you, then only spending €7.49 is a good way to try them.
Hope you enjoyed the post and I would love to know if you decide to try them or have used them already.
