The WetnWild Megaslicks Balm Stains are the perfect go to for those busy days where you don’t get time to touch up your beloved matt lipsticks. I find when I am at work, I don’t get much of a chance to check or top up my lipstick. When I use matt lipsticks they tend to gather at the corner of my lips and in general wear off quite poorly. It doesn’t help that I am also eating or sipping on something for most of the day!
As much as I love my matt lipsticks I wanted to find an alternative for work. My main requirements were that they were reasonably priced (as I wanted to buy a few different shades), the colour was vivid and the wear off is minimal or just leaves a stain of colour.
I can now say that the WetnWild Megaslicks Balm Stains do all of the above and more!
The Details – WetnWild Megaslicks Balm Stains
WetnWild claim the Megaslicks Balm Stains do the following:
- Smooth, conditioning formula enriched with acai palm oil
- Forms a protective shield on the lips to prevent feathering
- Leaves your pucker moisturized with a unique cooling tingle!
- Provides continuous moisture for softer lips
I agree with all of the above!! I am in love with how moisturizing these are and how well they sit on the lip. There is 11 colours in the WetnWild Megaslicks Balm Stains range, so not a huge selection but there is definitely a couple of shades to suit everyone.
The balm stick itself, has a clear cap that clips on (beware it can become loose and pop off) and has a twistable bottom to move the product up as you use it. What I noticed was that the colour looked very different on the lips than what I imaged. That said they are a balm stain and I would kind of expect this, so I was not too worried.
The Lip Balm itself is quite thick in width but I do not find it difficult to apply. If you are looking for a very precise application or not very confident when applying the stain, you could use a lip brush.
The three WetnWild Balm Stains that I purchased was E126 – Rico Mauve, E1601 – Red-ioactive and E1621 Truffle in Paradise. The swatches below show you what the colours look like on the skin, however, further down I show you what they were like on my lips when I applied them. You will notice the difference between how they look on the skin and how they actual look on my lips.
WetnWild Megaslicks Balm Stains – Rico Mauve
On the skin the Rico Mauve looks like a nude brown, however on the lips it is very nude. I have pale lips so it is a very natural lip colour, perfect for work. The wear off is minimal and not noticeable and in my opinion, it is the perfect shade for a natural day look. This is now my go to lip colour for work.
WetnWild Megaslicks Balm Stains – Red-Ioactive
Even though this suggest a red colour, on my lips its a very bright pinky red. Its a very rich colour and is perfect if I want to wear a stronger brighter colour. I save this colour for the days that I need a bit of cheering up!
WetnWild Megaslicks Balm Stains – Truffle in Paradise
The Truffle in Paradise is the perfect colour for my skin tone and I have a penchant for dark brown/red colours anyway so I am a bit biased 😉 The colour payoff from Truffle in Paradise is the strongest of the three and it holds it vibrancy for longer. I save this colour for the days were I need my makeup to say “Yes I am badass” .
Overall I really love the WetnWild Balm Stains. They are so reasonably priced at €3.99, beautifully moisturizing, wears off nicely and the colours are gorgeous. I am without a doubt going to add to my collection going forward.
